Régens Plc. and its UK subsidiary also participated at this year’s Future Internet Week in Aalborg, held by the Presidency of Denmark in the EU Council. The main theme of the one week conference was “Smart Cities and Internet of Things” and brought together researchers, institutions and projects that have strong influence on European activities on the Future Internet. The one week event hosted several other European Future Internet events, like the Future Internet Infoday.
Régens as an active RTD partner in running FP7 research projects was interested at the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership Programme info-day. The information day focused on the next call topics, highlighted the most important domain areas of future internet research including mobility, logistics, agrifood, environment and smart cities.

The latest FACIT-SME meeting was held in Madrid, starting with a two days „Train the Trainer” session followed by the GA meeting from 22-24 February 2012. At the „Train-the-Trainer” session the developer team presented the features of the FACIT portal to the project partners.
The FACIT portal as the result of the project will be a breakthrough application tool for ICT SMEs in quality standards (CMMI, SPICE, IT Mark and ISO 9001) and software development methodologies (SCRUM, Waterfall, Spiral model) implementation.
10 partners participated in the two days GA meeting where the main subject was the exploitation of the FACIT portal.

Régens as an innovative ICT company, had the possibility with 3 other Hungarian ICT SMEs to participate in a business networking event in London with the support of the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA).
This was the first action of a project co-financed by HITA to provide support for ICT SMEs in the UK market to find business partners, distributors or customers. In the frame of this business development support project HITA involved a professional sales company to find proper partners for the selected Hungarian SMEs.
Régens has great interest in the UK market and has opened its office in London 1,5 year ago.

On the 23 of November 2011 IVSZ (Hungarian Association of IT Companies) organized a workshop “Quality management in the software industry” in the frame of the FACIT SME project in Budapest. The workshop was dedicated to ICT companies mainly SMEs, who would like to get insight into quality management models, and software engineering methods.
Ms Reka Moksony, head of business development at Regens Plc. held a presentation and introduced the currently running FP7 FACIT SME project to the audience, which main aim is to support companies in the implementation of quality models (CMMI, SPICE, IT Mark, ISO) and software engineering methods (SCRUM, Waterfall etc.).

The final MaPEer SME projects’ two day event was held in the frame of the European SME week 2011, on the 5-6th of October 2011 in Brussels. The MaPEeR SME project is funded by the European Union under the European Commission 7th Framework Programme, and focuses on the enhancement of EU SMEs participation in European, national and regional RTDI programmes.
Reka Moksony, the Head of Business Development at Regens PLc., was invited as an expert to this event and gave a presentation about the Hungarian RTDI programmes for SMEs and explained the recent problems they have to face when participating in such projects.

LinkedIn is the most successful professional networking tool used by millions of business people and experts around the world. Regens uses this tool for business development and recruitment support for a long time, and wanted to share its good practice with its clients in the frame of a Summer Academy Series.
Régens organized a workshop this summer with a great success! Our clientele had the chance to understand the possibilities and role of LinkedIn in business development, sales, marketing and recruitment activities.
The next academy course will be organized this autumn in order to demonstrate the social community and media communication possibilities in business development and sales support.

FREE survey results.
Regens Web Solutions was a Silver sponsor of the largest Cloud Computing World Forum 2011 in Europe! During the show Regens organised a survey in order to collect feedback from decision makers and managers about the business benefits of cloud based collaboration tools.
As an innovative application provider, REGENS offers SMARTNET as a service in order to demonstrate how technology supported collaboration can deliver value for companies.
During the exhibition 65 senior level managers responded to 3 questions about collaboration and efficiency. The results show a great interest in collaboration support tools aimed at increasing efficiency in networked enterprises.

More than 3000 Visitors, iPhone raffle, cloud based collaboration survey...
21-22 June 2011 was dedicated to the “Cloud”. Regens Web Solutions Ltd was a silver sponsor of the largest Cloud Computing World Forum in Europe!
SMARTNET as a cloud based business collaboration platform was exhibited at our stand where we had more than 300 visitors during the two day show. Regens organised a raffle –with the winner receiving an iPhone 4, and combined the drawing with a survey about the benefits of cloud based collaboration.

 Mid of May was the IT week in the series of events of the EU presidency.
Régens as an active participant of the EU Framework Programmes attended different conferences organised in the scope of the Future Internet Week.
More than 400 foreign experts and researchers attended the Future
Internet Conference that introduced the services and devices of the
future internet. We would like to highlight the presentation of Albert-
Laszlo Barabási about the operation of networks.
ICT Proposers Day took place on 19-20 May at Hungexpo and attracted
about 1500 visitors. It was the meeting point of researchers,
universities and SME’s interested in the coming call for the IT related
EU Framework Programmes with the biggest budget.

A conference on “Mobilising SMEs for the future of Europe” was held by the Hungarian Presidency and the Commission on 24 and 25 May.
The event focused on local and regional solutions to the key challenges facing SMEs and on implementing the Small Business Act (SBA) for Europe in the Member States.
The event incorporated the European Enterprise Awards ceremony that took place in the National Gallery where Regens was invited.
Our FACIT-SME project that is running in the scope of the Seventh
Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Union (EU) points out that
SME’s access to professional R&D and innovation services
considerably facilitates the opening of new markets and business
opportunities.

The European Network of Customs Software was founded in 2010 under the coordination of FORMAT Software, a German customs software provider.
The first introductory meeting with all European partners was organised in Frankfurt in March 2011. Regens, as a leading customs software provider in Hungary, was selected by Format as the Hungarian node for the network.
Thomas Steinke, Leader of the European Network of Customs Software has answered a few questions related to the goals and implementation of this cooperation.
